Free Exercise Videos!/ Wednesday weigh in

I found a great website yesterday when reading through my SHAPE magazine. It is called you can log in on scheduled times and watch live videos and they have a new one every week. If that doesn't work for you which it doesn't work for me since all the scheduled times are in the morning and I work at that time, you can watch them "on demand" for free too and that works better since I don't have the fastest connection in the world either. So I am going to do one of the exercises today and see how I like it.

For weigh in my scale also keeps track of points like ***.7 and stuff like that for weight but fr this I think I am just going to drop the points and stick with the hundredths number. So here it goes...

Today's weight: 149 lbs

Last weigh-in: 149 lbs

Start weight: 153 lbs

Goal weight: 138 lbs

So no loss at all this week but I haven't been the best at my exercise routine and I think that is the problem, so I think with the help of this new website I shouldn't get bored with working out and it will help me keep going. I just cannot wait until my kickboxing class starts!!

Another great website I love that has great articles is this website is by Belinda Kan her twitter name is @HealthyWeight4U. She has wonderful articles on her website and her tweets are very informative! You should check her out! I got her newsletter in my in-box today and it is all about how whole grain bread from your regular supermarket aren't as healthy as you think they are! Check it out!!

Need to Push it...

I have not been wanting to do much exercise lately. Yesterday my stomach felt bad but I did do a lot of walking around the mall and shoes store. I found my white wedding shoes! And another ivory pair to wear for my rehearsal dinner and to my friend Nicole's wedding. So that was pretty exciting!

But I think today I need to get my butt back on the treadmill! And run it!

I have a saxophone lesson to teach today at 4:00 pm and some shopping errands to run so I guess I should get started. I also need to choose a day to do weigh ins...I am thinking Wednesday. For one rhymes (yes I am that cheesy) and it is right in the middle of the week which I think it good.

I usually weigh myself in the morning everyday, but sometimes that can be a little discouraging because my weight fluctuates a lot, but I still like to do it to keep track of everything, I think I am doing good with my eating healthfully, I just need to get my butt in gear to do some more exercise, otherwise just by adjusting my diet I can't really lose very much weight, and I don't want to start giving up things that I love. I think things will be a little easier once my kickboxing class starts and my Zumba class starts back up again. Then I will be exercising 3 times a week!

I am excited for those workout classes they are seriously going to kick my butt! but in a good way!!

Amazing Snack

I am a Chobani Lover!I love all flavors but one of my favorite flavors is Pineapple! And what I love to do for a tropical snack or sweet dessert is to mix in coconut flakes. So yummy enjoying one as my snack now since my stomach was growling like crazy!

Thought I would share it seriously is delish!

Chobani 2% Pineapple + coconut flakes = tropical island treat!! YUM!

Beginning of my Spring Break

I am on spring break this week and I am hoping on making some progress on my physical goals and making my space that I live in healthy too.
So my first step is cleaning my room, the problem is I have been accumulating things for the wedding and I have no space to put anything! I can't wait to move out and have a whole two bedroom apartment with lots of space instead of just a tiny room that is crammed with stuff, but I do need to get rid of some things. Otherwise my soon to be hubby with kill He knows I have a shoe, purse, and jewelry obsession...I can't help it. I just love all thing sparkly!

I am going to go shopping today with my girlfriend who is also getting married this summer she is going to be my maid of honor and I am one of her bridesmaids! We are going to look for wedding shoes together at DSW and various other places. I am going to wear my Reebok Easy Tone shoes for shopping today, they seem like they work because my butt and legs hurt a little the next day when i wear them for a long time. So why not?

My breakfast this morning was a whole wheat English muffin with margarine and apricot and raspberry jam, not the best but my tummy didn't feel the best. I might have a Greek yogurt before I leave to go shopping with my girl!

Back to cleaning up my room...ugh. Thinking counts as low impact exercise!!

I love the weekends but...

I always seem to totally blow my healthy eating on the weekends.

#1 because I like to go out to eat.
#2 sometimes depending on where you go to eat there are not to many healthy options on the menu...
#3 I like beer and wine...(why they heck must they have so many empty calories!!! ER)
and #4 I have terrible will power and the portions sizes are so huge these days.

Friday night I did well and went out to dinner with my fiance and ordered one blackened chicken taco at California Tortilla, but I also had a few of Justin's chips and queso dip....cheese is my weakness, but still not bad!

Saturday I went to a dessert theater performance of Alice and Wonderland, and I had cheesecake...I should have just said no dessert please so after eating it I felt...pretty gross. I really love cheesecake but it is definitely not something I should be eating. I guess everyone and awhile it is OK. SO I guess I should beat myself up.

Then for dinner on Saturday we went to one of our favorite places for beer and chili. Hard Times Cafe, I ordered a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale which I love and I ordered a bowl of vegetarian chili which I was pretty good, but most things on the menu at that restaurant are not the healthiest. Justin and I both love the grilled wings there so we ordered that as our appetizer. I was pretty stuffed after that meal. But I only ate about half my chili. We need to stay away from Hard Times for a while we went there last night because we had a Groupon to use so probably will not be going for a while.

To make matters worst my Zumba class that is on Saturday mornings was canceled because our instructors car broke down so I was bummed about that. The good thing is I went grocery shopping and got healthy food for myself to eat this week. I am on spring break so hopefully I can exercise and get a lot of things done this week. I need to make a to do list. When I am working I just cannot seem to get all the things I want done.

Today I went to to lunch with Justin and we had sushi which was delicious and healthy! He has left to go back to Morgantown for the week. And I will miss him!

I just have to figure out a way to stick to my healthy routine even on the weekends. It is tough but if I don't make good habits now, they will just continue to be unhealthy when we get married. I think limiting our going out to eat to just once a week will help too, but it is hard when he is traveling down just for the weekend and then going back home. Maybe I can plan to cook at my house next weekend! Sounds like a good plan to me.

I went to REI and got a new water bottle with a straw drinking cap so I can actually drink and run on the treadmill at the same time, which is what I am about to go do!

This was a long update, I know this next week will be better!

Today was not the greatest for lunch, I work at a school and the little 2/3 year olds eat lunch around 12 noon and you can't eat your lunch at the same time because you have to go around an help them, but it makes me very hungry. And on Fridays it is pizza day so sometimes if there is extra pizza I will take a slice, I don't know why because it really isn't very good pizza and I should really resist it so I can have something better...but today I did have one slice.

Also when children celebrate there birthday it is hard for me to resist the cupcakes that they bring in for everyone...I have been able to pass them up in the past, but I think free food is one of the things I struggle with the most...if it is free I want to eat whether I am hungry or not...definitely something I need to work on.

Here is what I had today..

slice of cheese pizza
one small apple
pepper jack cheese stick
green tea

I will take a healthy snack for this afternoon to eat and try to eat a better dinner. Something with lots of veggies!!

My goals

My healthy living goals are to eat healthful food but to also enjoy life. I don't think you should have to give up the things that your really love to keep a healthy weight. My goals are pretty simple. I am getting married this summer in August so I would really like to be in great shape for the wedding, but not just for the wedding but all the time after that too. I feel better when I exercise so I need too to keep it up. Being a sufferer of severe migraines I find that exercise really does help me not have so many brain busting headaches. So...very quickly my goals in numbers and where I am now.

I am starting this blog now but I have already lost weight since I was in college which makes me super happy there was a time when I was close to 180 lbs, and that was not a fun time. I didn't feel good and I didn't look good and my self confidence was down the drain. So anyway here is the number crunching...

height: 5'8"
current weight: 149.8 lbs
my healthy weight goal: 138 - 140

So that is it! I am doing a pretty good job with my routine exercising at home and having Zumba on Saturday. Also my Kickboxing class starts soon on Monday and Wednesday. I am excited.

I would love to reach my goal by mid may so when I go to get my bridal gown altered I won't be losing any more weight but we will see!

Why blog?

I wanted to start a blog about my health goals. I also want to share my health goals with others and see what other Bloggers are doing to maintain their healthy lifestyle. I am excited to start this blog and I hope unlike other blogs and journals that I have stopped using, this one I will continue and take this lifestyle of Healthy living one day at a time. Which is exactly the reason why I entitled my blog as such.
